The John McDonald Award was created in 2009 as an award that recognizes a coach, parent or volunteer demonstrating hard work and dedication to the Dorchester Youth Hockey program. This award is named for longtime volunteer, coach and Past President John McDonald, who helped revive a struggling DYH program in the late 1980s, started many of our fundraising efforts still used today and currently acts as Head Coach of the Bantam A team.
