The Dorchester Youth Hockey Inc. program is renown for providing not only an opportunity to learn and play the game of hockey but life long personal growth skills. We're excited to have the opportunity to share these benefits with you.  At DYH we offer many types of skating programs; these include Learn to Skate, in partnership with O'Sullivan Hockey Academy, Instructional Hockey for first year players ages 5-8, and different levels of Mites on up to Midgets for the older and more skilled player.  Alumni of Dorchester Youth Hockey have gone on to excel at all levels of hockey, from high school to college to the pros.
In all levels of our program players experience positive motivation and goal setting. Our coaches provide a safe learning environment and strive to be effective role models for the players.

Bruins Alumni at DYH
by posted 01/28/2010

The Boston Bruins and Warrior Hockey have teamed up to host 6 hockey clinics throughout New England. Dorchester Youth Hockey has been selected as one of these clinic sites!

Each clinic features two hours of on-ice instruction led by Boston Bruins Alumni and members of the Youth Hockey Development Team. Each clinic includes instruction on developing skater’s individual offensive and defensive game, as well as improving team play.

Bruins and Warrior clinics are open to 50 youth hockey players and must play at the Pee Wee, Bantam or Midget levels. Each participant will receive a gift bag, jersey and raffle ticket for the chance to win Bruins autographed memorabilia and Warrior hockey gear. The newest Warrior equipment will also be showcased and a private Bruins Alumni autograph session will be held for each clinic participant.

This clinic will be held on Tuesday February 9th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Devine Rink.

Registration for this event will be held on a "First Come First Served" basis. In order to qualify, the skater's DYH tuition must be paid in full. Please email Matt Sweeney if you are interested in having your PeeWee, Bantam or Midget aged player participate or would like to make a tuition payment at  or call 617-359-7823. These spots will fill up quickly, so act fast!

H1N1 Flu Guidelines

Guidelines regarding H1N1
October 23, 2009

USA Hockey, with guidance from its Chief Medical Officer Dr. Michael Stuart, has issued the following information regarding the H1N1 infection, including some basic recommendations to reduce the likelihood of spreading the infection.
USA Hockey recommends:
  1. Provide individual water bottles. Do not share water bottles.
  2. Regularly wash hands.
  3. Clean workout gear for each practice/competition.
  4. Keep gloves on during the traditional handshake with opponents.
Individuals with influenza may develop typical signs or symptoms of: fever (102°degrees F or greater), cough, muscle aches, runny nose, headache, or sore throat with the potential for more serious complications, including. pneumonia.

This year’s influenza virus strain has particularly targeted children and young adults. Transmission of influenza virus may occur from the day before the onset of symptoms and during the 5-7 days that these symptoms are present.

Infected individuals should stay home until signs and symptoms have resolved and they have not had a fever for at least 24 hours. The 24-hour no-fever timeline should be achieved naturally, without the aid of fever reducing medications.

Additional information regarding H1N1 is available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: http://www.cdc.gov/H1N1Flu/
